Of course you can only sell as much as you can carry. If you can carry 15 items, which is the default amount of items you can carry when you start playing (you have a 16-slot bag, but you need one slot for your Hearthstone – you can also destroy your hearthstone and get a new one at an Inn which will provide you with one extra slot, though). The more bags you get, the more items you can carry and the more money you will make. Some mobs drop bags. It’s not rare to get one or two 6-slot bags before you reach level 10 or so and you can probably find 8-slot bags (such as Linen Bags) at the AH for about 2 silver pieces each. If you can, get them as soon as possible. Fill all your bag slots with the biggest bags you can afford. If you don’t need a special bag – we hunters need quivers which occupies one bag slot – you will probably spend around 8-10 silver pieces on bags but don’t worry: you’ll soon recover it!
You can also announce you’re buying bags on the trade channel and have a tailor made them for you at a discount. We once bought 4 Netherweave Bags for 30 gold coins directly from a tailor that crafted them for me on the spot. At the time those bags were sold at 8g50s each, so we saved 4g on that deal.
Upgrade your bags as soon as you can to the largest bags you possibly can. After getting the 6-slot bags, we started replacing them with 10-slot bags (Small Silk Packs) which cost us about 20 silver coins each. Later we purchased the Netherweave Bags described above. Yes we know it goes against Tip Number 2 but remember Tip Number 3? The more you carry, the more you sell and the more money you make! And you WILL notice the difference.
the crafted 22 slot bags (glacial) are still more expensive than 'gigantique' on my server, so 22 slots is 1200g. this will probably change over time, so if you're looking for a 22 slot, check the AH on your server.
ReplyDeletealso worth noting that sartharion in the obsidian sanctum (always, heoric & regular) drops a bop 22 slot bag. it's unique though, so you'll only be able to carry one.
it seems like a waste since we already have 20 slots (you got 3x imbued netherweave in TBC, right?), but 6 extra slots makes a big difference
It does a big difference. Specially when you are farming leather. It's not rare for us to fill our bags with drops from mobs very fast, which translates in a MAJOR income (about 15 gold for each 40 minute session or so).
