We're Back and Twitting!

We're back, we're Twitting and we're having fun!!!

Although starting over, going back to the roots and playing a Druid on another realm IS A LOT OF FUN huntering is TEH thing.

So we're back! We missed huntering, we missed Loque and we're having a blast.

We are not Twitting our adventures as we live them -- we installed TweetCraft so we can send tweets in-game -- so you can follow us.

We are also planning on writing stuff here so gather around and let the fun begin!

Back to Roots

I am back to my roots.

About 3 years ago I started playing WoW in the US servers. I started playing mostly because of a dear, dear friend who brought me into this amazing world.

We both started playing as Tauren Druids. We discovered Azeroth, quested together and had the best times of our lives. Adama, my friend's druid was Feral and I was Resto. We were a heck of a team.

Then we discovered other classes. I tried and LOVED the hunter. My friend tried and LOVED the warrior. And although our characters were together in the same guild for some time, our paths have drifted apart. He was a raider. I was more of a PvE/RP.

He did all sorts of raids, he lived for raiding, he was good at it too. But he grew tired. Tired of all the responsability. Tired of all the pressure and stress. He stopped enjoying WoW. And so did I. I adore my guild (The Wolf Guard). They're an amazing group of amazing people. Even if they kick me out for not playing, I will be a Wolf Guard at heart. But I needed something different.

My friend abandoned WoW altogether. I did it too for some time, only logging to say hello to my fellow guildies now and then. But we both missed something. We missed the basics. We missed the exploration.

We missed our roots.

I have been nagging him with the thought of rolling a couple of druid characters on a completely different realm. Start over. Start fresh. Go back to the roots.

And so we did. We are now playing on another realm with our druids. We are exploring. We are helping each other. We, above all, are having fun.

We started a blog that we will grow and improve over time. Don't expect to find tips and tricks there. We may write them but don't expect them. What you can expect, though, is for us to tell our stories. Our adventures in Azeroth and beyond, and you can read them here.

Because we are back to our roots.

ZOMG he made a post!!!

Indeed we did.

We miss WoW. A lot. We haven't played since... About the last post we made here. We have tried to stay away from WoW for a while. WoW is the most enjoyable game but it can suck you in big time as I'm sure most of you know and have felt a few times already. So much that notorious players such as BRK are quitting (or almost) to be able to dedicate more time to their families (like yours truly) and other non-WoW-related projects (again, just like yours truly).

We miss WoW. We miss our guildies. We miss the fun of not thinking about anything else besides the world of WoW (redundant, we know). We miss the hunts. We miss the fights. WE MISS LOQUE! Our precious, amazing, kick-ass spirit beast pet. We miss our Wordless Wednesdays - we don't play, so we don't get new screenshots. We miss Orgrimmar. We miss Thunder Bluff. We miss Outlands. We miss EVERYTHING about WoW. But time we need so we can work on our side projects and spend more time with the family.

We WILL be back - or so we hope.

So... Ehmm... What have you kids been doing while uncle Nadva's been away?

Know your duties

There's some things people assume you know already when you hit 80 and do heroics. Like when and what to need when those blues purples drop, for example. Or what food and potions to bring. Or what is your d@rn role in the group.

In a 5-men group there are usually 3 types of roles: tank, healing and DPS (damage per second). You're usually doing one of these 3 roles, you usually don't switch roles (although you can if your call can tank and dps and you have the proper gear, for example - even if not very advisable) and you usually don't mess with what your group buddies are doing.

Of course, there's always the dumb guy that wants to play Leeroy Jenkins and wipes the whole party. Again and again.

Our huntering wipe award today goes to a hunter we have played a few nights ago (no names). He did his need/greed moves right, he had a nice pet, he played well. Except he HAD to try and hit every single mob in the instance BEFORE the tank did. Did we wipe? You bet we did. Did we boot him? No. We teached him. We told him NOT to do it. We told him to wait for the tank to get aggro and THEN hit the mobs.

And now he uses Omen too. Finally...

AFK?

Yes, we have been AFK. 2009 has been a bad year for us. Between relatives been in the hospital, a couple of flus, car problems, now one of our brother-in-laws have deceased.

So there hasn't been any time (or disposition) to do our regular huntering.

We'll still post our Worldless Wednesday screenshots and we'll continue with our Gold Guide (which is already written to the end) but the other posts may come a lot slower.

Stick with us, though. We'll be back on track soon enough. You'll see.

We Has the Flu

We're again sorry for the lack of updates. We got the flu (again) and have been suffering from high fevers. We'll try to start updating again tomorrow.

This has been a very complicated 2009 so far...

Things are still a bit slow

Hello everyone. We hope everyone had a nice New Year's eve and that you entered 2009 well and in shape.

Things on our end are still a bit slow. Our father-in-law is still in the hospital - so family still needs us - and our vacations are over and we started working today (yes, on a Friday). The upside is that we have more interweb timm. The downside being that we have LESS time for WoW for the next few days. So things will continue to be slow - for which we apologize yet again.

Mrs. Nadva's dad is better but we don't know when he's coming out of the hospital since we can't manage to get a hold on the darn doctor - ridiculous, we know.

So, please bare with us and our slow posting. We'll try to get things back on track as soon as everything goes back to normal. Meanwhile we'll make a few posts whenever we manage to get the time to write.

We wish you all a Happy 2009. May the gods bless us all with joy, happiness, gold and help us with our daily quests (Mrs. Nadva calls it "job" - go figure).

Something's Not Right

We are sorry for the lack of WoW-related content in this post and, very possibly, the lack of a post tomorrow.

Mrs. Nadva's dad is ill and in the hospital and, therefore, we need to support the family. Things are a bit chaotic, we are all very tired and trying to hold the ship in good course.

We hope to resume our regular posting soon.

We were going to post the next settlement of our guide to make gold but we will leave that for tomorrow.

Anyhoo, we hope you have a nice Christmas day and that Father Winter leaves you some nice new purple gear on the chimney at the tavern!

Honor and Fair Play

First and foremost, a small disclaimer.

We play in a PvE server. We enjoy PvE very much and very rarely engage in PvP. It's just not the kind of stuff we like. While we see that this post has no place in a PvP server, we think it's very well suited for a PvE one. Those in PvP servers: please bare with us.

Not very often we see players from the opposing faction (Alliance players, of course) trying to ruin another player's quest (a Horde player), hunt for pet or whatever. It's true, we are, indeed, part of opposing factions. It's true there's a PvP component in World of Warcraft. But, in our opinion, it's also true that people should have some fair play. Some sportsmanship.

A lot of players tend to try and ruin the fun for those of opposing factions. They try to kill their mobs or just generally annoy the player. But, very often, we see something completely different. Something we love to do also. After all this is a very strong social game where we interact with other people (real people, that is) and we believe in a world where people help each other.

If we see an alliance player trying to bring down an elite, or simply overwhelmed with mobs all over him, we tend to go help. Why not? He/she is just trying to do a quest, gain reputation, HAVE FUN. And having fun does not mean we need to ruin other people's fun. Sometimes it means helping them! Even if they are part of the opposing faction. Even if they killed you 200 times in a battleground. Because, above all, World of Warcraft is about fun.

Honor yourself (no, not the Honor currency) and those around you by playing fair, be civil and helping others achieving their goals and having fun.

This is how WoW should be!
